The Communion cake went pretty well. My mom yelled “you said the cake was white chocolate!” when she cut it open, giving me the perfect opportunity for blood of Christ related comments. My niece and nephew were over and very interested in helping me bury my frog in the backyard. They also wanted to see the frog before it died and hold the small plastic bag it was in. Later my niece gave me an Easter card which featured me dressed in a bunny costume with people laughing at me and on the inside I was holding my dead frog. She also gave me a drawing of a bloody dead frog even though my actual frog was not bloody. I’m sure she will tell her mother some interesting stories tonight.
I haven’t been terribly productive this week. Drinking and sleeping, yet to head back to the gym. I haven’t applied for any jobs either. And goddamn candy, I was doing pretty good but the lure of Easter chocolate is too much. I refused to bring any home to continue the devouring of sugary egg shaped things.
Music is always a good distraction. I’m going to a show tomorrow and I’ve found a few new songs that I like.
One is Hang Me Out to Dry by Cold War Kids which I’ve been listening to repetitively on their MySpace page.
Another song is Sunday Morning by k-os (there does not seem to be any capitalizing in the name). It sounds very familiar, maybe it’s a cover or samples a song I know? It plays automatically when you go to his site.
And the third is a rant by Dan le Sac vs Scroobius Pip called Thou Shall Always Kill. Again, the MySpace page. The song reminds me of a rant I might expect to hear from Martin Atkins at a Pigface show. Just from looking at their MySpace blog there seems to be a lot more to the song than poking fun at egos. They’re not very fond of Nestle, Coca Cola or NME. I don’t even know what NME is! Maybe because I’m not in England.
So random new songs, Entourage returning to finish it’s season, pointless blog entries..I have lots of things that can keep me busy without actually accomplishing a thing.
